Community Sessions and Family Activities

s spring, why not book Go! Explore! Learn! for a community or family event.   There are  many fun, engaging and interactive programmes to choose from, such as Wonderful Woodlands, All About Trees or Well-being in the Outdoors, where we explore why trees are so important and amazing for our environment and how they can support our well-being.

Whole School training for Outdoor Education

The new Welsh curriculum puts sustainability and the outdoors at the heart of learning.   Here at Go Explore Learn, we have a range of packages to help staff feel confident in how to use their school grounds as a classroom.  We also give ideas for STEM, nature, English, and humanities lessons to ensure learners are connected to the world around them.

Training can range from full/half day INSETS, twilight sessions, or CPD (shadowing a session), where the staff are immersed in the learning and  experience and see outdoor education in action.  .

What on Earth is sustainability?

The topic of change is high on the agenda this term for all year groups.  Many schools are looking at the concept of sustainability and how we can make better choices for the planet.

The workshop explains what the term sustainability means so that everyone can understand and find ways of being more sustainable everyday.  We can focus the learning on many areas such as:-

  • Energy Use
  • Climate change
  • Sustainability choices
  • Habitat, the planet and sustainability

A Few Words About Us

Hi, my name is Jo Goddard and I would like to welcome you to Go Explore Learn.
My love of the environment started as a small child, thanks to my dad who shared his passion for the outdoors and our local woodland. Throughout my career I have been privileged to work in some exceptional places and inspiring roles, teaching children and adults about sustainability and the wonders of our beautiful planet.

After graduating from Swansea University I worked for 10 years as part of the City and County’s Sustainable Development team co-ordinating ESDGC and shaping Welsh environmental policy and framework. For the past 9 years, I have worked at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, developing their outdoor curriculum activities, teaching and advising on ESDGC and outdoor education

I set up Go Explore Learn as a bespoke education company delivering high quality, engaging, curriculum-linked learning programmes. I am passionate about allowing learning to be hands-on and believe the outdoors allows each child and person, regardless of their ability or age, the chance to develop, explore and display their unique talents. By engaging with the environment, we develop a deep appreciation of our natural world and learn how our interdependence shapes the future health of our planet.

Go Explore Learn is a fully insured company, I am First Aid trained and have a full DBS. I have also qualified mindfulness in the outdoors teacher.

My Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their lesson with Jo. She got them all engaged with interesting tasks. The school was so impressed with her that they have booked her again to help with developing their outdoor area. Mr Andrews, Gendros Primary, Swansea
